Browsers

Getting a real good browser, go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html. Read about it. It has so many great features and it FREE. I don’t get a cent because I recommend it, but I feel good that it will help you enjoy the Internet a better.
I’ll give you one thing I really like about Fire Fox and that is you can save URL’s and here is how you do it. Once you activate Fire Fox, and that is pretty easy, you go to the address bar and put in a URL you want to visit. If you want to get to another URL, but don’t want to lose the first one you just click on file in the upper left hand corner and a drop down will fill in under file. If I am ahead of you just be patient.
The second thing in the drop down is new tab and click on it. Then go to the address bar and key in the URL you want to see. Under the address bar you will see the first URL address you were at. When you want to go back to it just click on it and it will come back.
You can have many URL’s just waiting for you to go back to. This can save you time in using the Internet. This is just one of the many things Fire Fox can help you with.
In a recent article I read that Fir Fox is still the best overall browser and it can take you right into Gmail. I’ll cover Gmail later and you will find out it is amazing.

here is good FREE stuff

Go to www. Google.com The click on Gmail, It is on the upper left center. The first thing you will see is where you can send E-mail. So you don't have a G mail account. That is easy to correct. After you are in Google and click on Gmail you will find on the right side it will ask you for you account information, but if you don't have a account then just look down a little bit an you and you will see create an account. Click on it and follow the directions.

Here is a tip when creating password make so you can remember it. Then put it in G mail documents. You do that by clicking on documents, then click on create new. A drop down box will be right under create new. The first one is documents. click on it and on the right and open page, this is where can to put in anything you want but lets start at the top and type in Passwords

Then bellow put in the password you chose for your Gmail account. The reason I told you to do this is the password is not stotred on you computer but in the internet. So if anything ever happens to your computer, believes me it wills, your information is safe.

You can access it form and computer and where as long as you can get on the internet.

If this sounds confusing and more than likely does don't worry because as you use Gmail more it becomes life falling out of bed.

Rome wasn't built in a day

Rome wasn't built in a day, so why do you think you have to know everything about computing in a few days. Here are some ideas that can help you have fun and learn how to take advantage of this wonderful tool called the computer.

For years only the very gifted could use computer and that was because you almost had to be programmer to use a computer, but not the case today. Things that have happened have made it so that anyone can use the computer. One, and you don't have to know this, the operating system have made it easier for software developers to create software that we can use it without having to be an Einstein.

Here is a name you have to remember. Google, it is where you go to find out information. You do have to get on a browser. Let just say this is the tool that let you get into the Internet. If you don't understand the Internet get on your computer and open a browser and put in the open white space at the top " goolge.com" and click and go on the right side of the white space. If “go” isn't there click on a star or anything in the white space but not the arrow facing down.

You will see a page that says Google at the top. There will be a white box under Google. And under that it will say Google search. In the open space put in whatever you want to know about. Example, you might want o know how many official holidays we have in the United States. Guess what you will get a listing where to find this information.

Google is your friend. It is called a search engine and there are many more than just Google. If you want to know about search engines get on Google and you can find out.
